Massive footprint found in blog network

Head’s up:

The Free Traffic System Admin has reported finding a large footprint in a competitor’s blog network, the main issue being that the network in question submits a test post with an identical message to their users blogs upon registering a new blog with them, leaving a massive footprint that could ultimately lead to Google and other SE coming down on the network(s), effectively killing all of the users back-links registered with it.

FTS Admin refuses to mention names, which is understandable, although I am curious who this competitor may be. Admin has notified the owner regarding this issue, and hopefully they will listen.

As some comments eloquently suggests: diversify your back-link building efforts for less risk. You can read the update here, along with interesting comments: mother of all footprints.

Perhaps the user Polo Mwonyonyi said it best: “Everyone stop worrying about Footprints, get back to work , focus on article submissions to FreeTS and content on your websites. Get your blog backlinks, while few people know about it! Get your Links!”

What is really great is your writing style, I normally hit the back button before the first paragraph but you kept me interested

      Hi Linda,

Thanks, although next time please keep it relevant to the post content rather than just a random comment. E.g., if you have any experience with Free Traffic System or other article back-link building services, a short comment or opinion on it could be helpful for others reading the same post, who wants to know more about FTS or back-link building in general. Sorry if I sound rigid, and I really do appreciate your comment.

  4. Thanks for quoting me. I actually have good things to say about freetrafficsystem, i have 2 sites that i am working on, one site achived a page rank of 2 and it is not even three months old, the same site is position 28 in Yahoo for my chosen keyword, ill be on the first page of yahoo by end of Feb. or sooner. my second site is a blog.i uploaded my wordpress blog into Free traffic system and i get free articles [unique articles]. my only wish is that FTS would reveal their faces…..sort of like KISS UNMASKED album….you know, who are these guys. I suspect the ceo is Ukrainian, i studied and lived in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia for many years , and the way Dim writes his English, it has the syntax of someone who is thinking in Russian, and trying very hard not to use Russian word order onto English. The man is a brilliant, just wish he and his team would show their faces.

      Hi Polo,

Thanks for your comment(s), and you are right: together with Article Ranks, Free Traffic System is an efficient way to build more back-links to your own websites, blogs, articles and affiliate links. The only drawback is the often poor quality of the articles being fed to your blog, if you choose to use their free blog content feature, and Article Ranks is better in that regard.

I suggest using both, as they have their own strengths and weaknesses. For efficient back-link building on autopilot, also consider The Link Juicer. The first month is free and your back-links after that period will stay in the system. Their monthly fee after the free period is $47, which is a bit steep but it automates your back-link building, and the first month is a free trial period, so it’s worth a look.

  6. Can anybody tell me where I sign up for the RSS feed? I’m kind of new to all of this, but a friend had mentioned this. Thanks for any help.

    • Haavard Lund says:

      Hi The Best Spinner,

Feel free to subscribe to the RSS fee using the orange RSS icon in the top right corner :) I’ve just changed its color from black to orange, as it just dawned on me that black on dark green probably didn’t make it too easy to find!

Just thought i would comment and say neat design, did you code it yourself? Looks great.

    • Haavard Lund says:

      Hi Luigi,

Thanks but this is the Flexibility 2 theme, and I am currently looking for something else to replace it. It is a nice theme and very customizable, but I prefer having a bit more control over the template code rather than having to rely on buttons and sliders for it. Other than that it is excellent and free.

You can get the Flexibility 2 theme at no cost from here: Flflexibility Theme

Hi just thought i would tell you something.. This is twice now i’ve landed on your blog in the last 2 weeks looking for totally unrelated things. Spooky or what?

    • Haavard Lund says:

      Hi Andrew,

I am never going to understand quite how Google works; sometimes I look up something and find one of my own blog posts ranking in the top positions for it, other times I can write SEO-style and it won’t show anywhere near the first pages :-) Also, I am working on a couple of SEO-optimized websites these days, and boy it feels more dificult to have it rank in the top 5-10 now than before the last updates.

Maye the PR4 rank of the blog has something to do with many of the posts ranking high, honestly I am not sure what to think of it anymore, but I’m not complaining when it happens! Usually, if you post 400-450+ words, tag it with social bookmarks and ping it, it will add to your domain’s overall SE strength. At least I like to believe it does :)

I agree with haavard Lund that you should consider The Link Juicer. It really works well on my micro niche sites. I have had some sites making me over 50 dollar a month with only 3 links a day from TLJ. And ofcourse its a free 30 day trial ;)

    Thanks,
